Audrey Villafaña

Audrey Villafaña is a Filipino-Australian illustrator and writer based in Sydney.

Born in Manila, The Philippines, Audrey moved to Australia when she was 5 years old. As a Third Culture Kid, she’s always been drawn to stories about diversity and differences, and is always looking to help kids ‘find their place in the world’ through her work.

Her illustration style takes a mixed-media ‘scrapbook’ approach, incorporating hand-generated textures, colours and assets to create works with a fun and playful feel.

She is a recipient of the inaugural Mirror Mentorship, run by Scribble and Think+DO Tank Foundation. This program works to expand opportunities for diverse and multilingual creators in Australian children’s publishing. She graduated with a Bachelor of Design (Animation) from UTS, and has had work published in Total Girl Magazine, and screened at Vivid and Sydney Fringe Festival.

Audrey also works in the animation industry (Film & TV) as a Production Coordinator at Flying Bark Productions.
